Cyrano de Bergerac
by Edmond Rostand
Directed by Mellisa Taylor
Cyrano de Bergerac is a man of many talents: a gifted poet, swordsman, philosopher and scientist. His wit and deep sense of honor have earned him as many friends as enemies, and he is held in high regard by society. His only true burden in life is his abnormally large nose; a feature that he is certain means he can never earn the love of any woman – let alone the love of the beautiful Roxane! He resorts to wooing her, through letters, on behalf of Christian (a friend and fellow soldier), who is also in love with her but doesn’t have the words to express it. She falls for the beautiful words crafted by Cyrano’s hand and heart – but believes they were written by Christian.
